Mr Dakshinamurthy Sunderamoorthy

I underwent my medical training in India before moving to the UK in 1998 to complete my specialist training in orthopaedics in Wales and Merseyside. I am married with 2 children. I maintain work life balance, do exercise regularly and have interest in music and travelling.

I am a Trauma & Orthopaedics Consultant in the Scunthorpe and Goole District General hospitals. I have 12 years’ experience as a Trauma & Orthopaedic Consultant in the NHS doing foot and ankle, lower limb surgery and trauma. I have done  fellowship in foot and ankle surgery at Leeds University Teaching Hospitals with Mr Nick Harris and a post CCT senior fellowship doing lower limb arthroplasty at Swindon’s Great Western Hospital.  I have worked at a variety of hospitals across the country including the Royal Derby Hospital, Mid Yorkshire Hospitals, Nottingham University Hospitals and Leeds University Teaching Hospitals before becoming a substantive Consultant in Northern Linconshire & Goole NHS Foundation Trust, St Hughs Hospital in Grimsby, Euxton Hall & Buckshaw Hospital in Chorley.  I perform a wide range of foot and ankle procedures and also perform knee replacement and knee arthroscopy. I regularly do audits, research and quality improvement projects to review my practice, present them in national and international meetings  and publish in peer review journals.
