Mr Andrew Flood

Having obtained my primary medical degree from King's College London in 1996 and progressing throuh House Officer and Senior House Officer Grades along the way gaining Membership of The Royal College of Surgeons of England, I completed my specialist orthopaedic traing via the Royal London Hospital training programme, including working at the prestigious Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in Stanmore. I was able to gain experience in all aspects of Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgery prior to passing the FRCS (Tr. & Orth.) examination and gaing entry to the General Medical Council Specialist Register. From 2010 to 2012 I was a Locum Consultant at the Royal London Hospital helping them with their hip and knee repalcement waiting list. In 2012, I was appointed a Consultant at CareUK Southampton, which has since changed name to Practice Plus Group. With no emergency trauma work, I have been able to concentrate fully in providing a high quality hip, knee and foot and ankle service. I am mainly based at Practice Plus Group Southampton, but also offer clinics and day case foot and ankle surgery at the St. Marys Surgical Centre in Portsmouth. Away from work, I enjoy walking and cycling around the South Downs National Park and consider myself lucky to live in such a beautiful part of the country.

I perform hip and knee replacement surgery with over 1,300 hip and over 900 knee repalcements recorded on the National Joint registry with a below average revision (failure) rate compared to the average of surgeons in England and Wales. I also off medial uni-compartmental knee replacement. I carry out hip and knee injection and knee arthroscopy for cartilage tears. I offet bunion and other toe deformity correcvtion and joint fusion surgery in the foot and ankle for arthritis. I also perform injections for painful foot and ankle conditions. Other conditions that I treat are achilles tendinopathy, plantar fasciitis, Mortons' neuroma, ganglion, ankle ligament repair and ankle arthroscopy.
