Over the last month we have seen the first changes at Board level for over three years at PHIN.
With NHS Partners Network assuming the lead on representing the independent healthcare sector, the Network’s Chief Executive David Hare is stepping onto the PHIN Board. David will replace Fiona Booth, former Chief Executive of the Association of Independent Healthcare Organisations as provider representative on the Board, as required under the Competition and Markets Authority Private Healthcare Market Investigation Order (2014).
From January 2019 Professor Nancy Devlin will step down from the PHIN Board. Nancy has been a member of PHIN’s Board since 2015, alongside her role as Director of Research at the Office of Health Economics. Nancy has her sight set on new challenges as she returns to her native Australia to take up the role as Professor of Health Economics and Director of the Centre for Health Policy at the University of Melbourne.
Andrew Vallance-Owen, Chair of PHIN, said
“Both Fiona and Nancy will be sorely missed. They brought distinctive and positive voices to the Board, and were keen advocates of PHIN in the wider profiles with AIHO and the Office of Health Economics respectively. I wish them all of the best in their new challenges and I know that they will be following PHIN’s progress with interest.
“At the same time we welcome David to the Board. He brings a wealth of experience, particularly in the relationship between the independent providers and the NHS, which will be a real asset as PHIN continues to align our processes and systems with the NHS.”
