We are pleased to announce that Nigel Mercer, Consultant Plastic Surgeon and previous President of the Federation of Surgical Specialty Associations has been appointed as Deputy Chair of the PHIN Board.
A passionate advocate for excellence in healthcare, Nigel also continues to fulfil the role of consultants' representative on the PHIN Board.
Nigel said: "I am delighted that I have been appointed Deputy Chair. I am very much looking forward to working in support of our Chair, Jayne Scott, our CEO, Ian Gargan and the whole team to get the CMA Order delivered in 2026.
"Once delivered, the work won’t stop to ensure private patients can find verifiable information on the PHIN website to guide their decisions when planning all their private health care journey."
Nigel replaces Michael Hutchings the outgoing Deputy Chair.
