PHIN’s new Compliance Report (see link below) is used to assess whether organisations who provide private in-patient or day-case healthcare in the UK are meeting their obligations under the CMA Private Healthcare Market Investigation Order 2014.

The report is designed to make the private healthcare market in the UK more transparent and help hospitals to identify any data that they are not currently submitting when they should be.

It can also be of use to other healthcare sector organisations, such as private medical insurers, who want to use the data in their businesses.

Finally, while a lack of data doesn't mean a hospital won't provide a good service, or it isn't safe, patients may want to use the report to find out more about any hospitals they are considering and ask questions of those hospitals before choosing who will provide their treatment.
