The role of the Data Quality Analyst is vital to ensure that PHIN delivers on the CMA Private Healthcare Order 2014 by supporting the business and its focused delivery of Silver and Bronze Milestones.

Additionally, the role will contribute to the Informatics Strategy, focusing on data standards, data specifications, and data alignment within the healthcare sector.

The Data Quality Analyst will work closely with a team of data analysts and a business analyst to form test procedures and ensure that the data produced is as accurate as possible. This role will cut across multiple departments in terms of liaising, documenting data specifications, methods and processes, creating test scenarios, performing testing, in addition to capturing actions and ensuring actions are complete.

The Informatics Strategy 2024 - 2027 outlines PHIN's vision and operational blueprint, emphasizing data excellence. The strategy focuses on:

  • Data Standards: Ensuring seamless and accurate data collection, processing, documentation, and publication. Adherence to information governance principles and confidentiality is paramount.
  • Data Specification: Promoting and supporting data specifications across the UK healthcare sector. Clinical Validation: Ensuring the accuracy and reliability of clinical data.
  • Data Quality: Driving excellence in data collection and management.

Through a structured approach, the strategy emphasizes enhancing data integrity, providing insightful analytics, and ensuring comprehensive reporting mechanisms. By doing so, the Informatics Team Data Quality Analyst will play an instrumental role in driving PHIN's success and adapting to future challenges.

Key deliverables

  • Support the business in delivering the CMA Private Healthcare Order 2014, focusing on Silver and Bronze Milestones.
  • Contribute to the Informatics Strategy by focusing on data standards, data specifications, and data alignment within the healthcare sector.
  • Work with a team of data analysts and a business analyst to form test procedures and ensure data accuracy.
  • Liaise with multiple departments to document data specifications, methods, and processes.
  • Create test scenarios and perform testing to ensure data accuracy.
  • Capture actions and ensure they are completed

Essential skills and experience

  • Proven track record of successful delivery of data-related projects, with experience working with multiple internal and external stakeholders and relevant technologies.
  • Self-starter with a focus on delivery, comfortable collaborating with and working in a close team.
  • Ability to work effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Educated to degree level – minimum 2:1 or equivalent.
  • Smart and curious thinker who cannot resist an intellectual challenge.
  • Ambitious, determined, self-motivated with an attention to detail.
  • Great organisational skills
  • Ability to work unsupervised to tight deadlines
  • Can act with limited supervision within own area of responsibility

  • Experience of working projects relating to Data Quality in the healthcare industry
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft (Office) 365 – Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook
  • Strong attention to detail and strong focus on accuracy
  • Able to work on own initiative and as part of a team and with a wide range of people at all levels
  • Excellent interpersonal & communication skills
  • Outstanding Report writing
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Have excellent executive/stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • Working knowledge of SQL including how to write T-SQL queries

Desirable skills

  • First degree or higher qualification in health domain
  • Business analysis skills using recognised methods
  • Experience working in an agile environment
  • Process / Swimlane documenting experience. Such as Microsoft Visio, Draw.io or Lucidchart
  • Familiarity of Microsoft PowerBI Desktop in navigation of functions
